Littleport & Ely Timebank

Welcome to Littleport & Ely Timebank!

We are an inclusive, friendly and local Timebank and have been running for approx 6 years with 100+ members.

We get involved in community initiatives, exchange individual help and run our own crafting group twice a month via the 'Littleport Crafters'.

To find out more, come along to our weekly coffee morning at Adams Heritage Centre every Thursday from 10:00 am or our Ely Coffee morning every month from 9:30 am to see what it is YOU could volunteer, AND what help you could receive yourself - contact the Committee for the Ely dates.

Timebanking links people to share their time and skills within their communities.

It is a way for local people to come together and help each other by exchanging knowledge, help and skills.
By helping someone do some gardening, walk their dog, water their plants etc. you get an hour’s time credit which you can then use to get something back. That may be help to write a CV, learning how to hem a skirt, someone picking up a loaf of bread, or gaining some computer skills.

Everyone’s time is equal, so one hour of my time is equal to one hour of your time, irrespective of whatever we choose to exchange.

However it’s not just about giving and receiving. Time Banking is also about bringing people together to build a stronger, safer and happier community.

The exchanges can go on and on, as do the new friendships, connections and networks that are made. Members feel less isolated and more supported in their own community.
