Tendring Time Bank

Welcome to Tendring Time Bank

Registered Charity Number 1191431

At our Centre at 30a St. Osyth Road, Clacton-on-Sea, we run various activities, all chosen by members, including: Art and Craft Days, Family Research, a Men Only afternoon, and a Drop-in afternoon to play board games or cards. There is also a huge collection of foreign stamps that need sorting into countries and sets.

Help is always needed at the Centre to sort donated items, dress the windows to reflect calendar events, such as Christmas, Easter, Mothers' Day, the Saints Days, Halloween, and the Anniversary of our Open Day around the 23 April, which is also St. George's Day.

Regular volunteers are needed to cover specific days of the week, so we can increase our opening hours, and those with some admin skills can learn to enter their own exchanges to record time credits earned, spent or donated, as well as entering group exchanges and running activity reports, and keeping a check on current membership levels.

Members are welcome to pop in for a chat and a cuppa whenever they are feeling the need for some company, or need some help or information.

Skills shared are wide and varied, and cover things such as Knitting, Crochet, Cross Stitch, Card Making, Computer Skills, Maths Tuition, Dog Walking, Companionship, Gardening and Basic D.I.Y., Form Filling, WiFi Access, CV Writing, Facility for Job Searches and help with Applications.
The DWP recommend jobseekers to join Time Banks in The Daily Jobseeker notifications.

Enter your own skills and needs in the Offers and Requests section on the Members Page.

Tendring is a large geographical area and our aim is to get community groups that are already running in some of the other areas, to become mini Time Banks, promote Time Banking amongst themselves and get other members in their locality to share skills in return for Time Credits, which can be used to get help where skills are lacking, or to donate to Beneficiary Members who may need more help.

Other volunteer organisations can join as Organisation Members, with their volunteers joining as individual Time Bank Members, who can then earn Time Credits for the volunteer work they already do, which they can then use to get something back for their volunteering or donate to their cause to build up a pot available for allocating to other needy people in the community.
