Welcome to the Basingstoke Timebank.

Hosted by:

Fancy using your skills, time and knowledge to help someone out for an hour or so? And would you appreciate receiving help from someone else in return? What makes Timebanking so special is that users exchange their time not their money!!

As a member of our timebank you don't have to be an expert. You just need to be willing to exchange your time and receive time from someone else!! Its that simple..... We believe that everyone has talents and abilities to share and timebanking is a great way for people to benefit and learn from one another.

Have a look at this short video about timebanks - What is a Timebank?

The Basingstoke Timebank project was launched to reduce social isolation and promote health and wellbeing. We believe people feel better when they are connecting and engaging with others.

Basingstoke is a deceptively big Borough with many rural and geographically isolated communities. Isolation can also take the form of a condition or illness that can prevents or limit you accessing your community.

Early 2018 a number of organisations in the Borough got together to promote a local timebank. First Point, part of the You Trust offered to be the host organisation and to provide a coordinator to run the project. The coordinator will work with you to identify your skills and abilities that you can share with others.

The Basingstoke Timebank started in April 2018 and will go live in August 2018. The timebank is administered by First Point, located at the Orchard Building near the civic offices. We hope to be able to promote the timebank across Basingstoke in various ways. We will start by visiting local hubs such as community centres in order to meet and encourage people to become members. At these events we will speak about Timebanks and how easy it is to join and how much fun it is to exchange your skills and interests with others.
