Welcome to the Gosport Timebanking
A way that we can bring our town togther.
Timebanking is a way of giving and taking on an equal basis, sharing time and making things
happen. One hour of time = 1 Time Credit.
Time credits are the currency and people/organisations can gain
time credits to then use in ways that suit themselves. The stronger
the Timebank the better the currency of exchange.
Its open to all
Gosport people and can benefit us all.
For example;
A housebound person could knit a cannula sleeve that would go to Gosport War Memorial Hospital. The time
taken to knit it results in ‘time credits’ which could then be used for someone
to do their shopping.
The person doing the shopping will collect their time credits and may want to
use them to learn Spanish. The person teaching Spanish may want to donate their
time credits to their children’s school and the school could use them for
volunteers who would help to plant trees in their grounds. This is a rough idea
of how it could work.
